What Type of Seller Are You?
Therere are three types of sellers that exist in the real estate world:
1. An "A type" seller needs to sell and they have a defined timeframe. Some of examples of a need to sell are job relocation, births, deaths, marriages or divorce. These homeowners are committed to selling and committed to hiring an agent.
2. A "B type" seller needs to move, but they want to sell on their own. This homeowner usually has a longer timeframe to sell and will most likely start out as a FSBO in order to save on the commission.
3. A "C type" seller would like to sell one day. This type of homeowner is more committed to price than moving and will sell if they get their price. This type of seller will usually start out as a FSBO or list their home with an agent, but price it too high as a way to test the market. This will usually result in an expired listing.
So the first step in deciding whether to sell a home is to decide what type of seller you are and be honest about it. This will ensure both you and your Real Esatet Agent are on the same page in this process and produce an equally rewarding relationship. I hope this helps :)
